PROCEDURAL PROCEEDINGS

What is the process? I have read many complicated and skeletal definitions. How about defining it as follows: A process is a series of interrelated tasks along one or more lines.

Processes take place in every company. These can be classified into three categories.

Companies where the boss doesn’t know the processes exist

Even in such companies that are not much managed, the processes will create themselves. It’s a natural thing. That’s what it looks like. Usually such teams are not very effective because the rules are not clearly defined. If there are great people working in such a company, it’s much better, because their intuition helps them not to do stupid things. Still, there will be a lot of things knotted up and not running as straight as they could. Relying on intuition is not enough.

Companies that have processes defined on paper

The boss or management understand that processes exist and need to be defined. Such companies can be highly productive. They deal with how the product moves through the company and try to make it as simple and fast as possible. Yet they can’t avoid making mistakes because humans are inherently fallible and their procedural management is based on people having to remember what, who and when to follow up.

Companies that have processes defined and solved through specialized software

Well, those are probably the least. It’s all about eliminating errors as much as possible, and it helps to have a system watching over us.

The process is sequential and enforced (when necessary) tasks.

Let’s not let people improvise on important things. Let’s not rely on their memory alone. Let’s make sure that things get done.

A beautiful example can be found in the handover protocols. These are the documents that are most likely to get lost. Many times I have heard stories of screw-ups where after a while the log was not there because it was lost and it was a problem. The customer requested something he was not entitled to, but the document was missing.

At 1CLICK we can prevent such situations. Our solution is characterized by dynamic processes. They are not static, where the employee has to search for them in a jumble of other procedural tasks, as is the case with many software. 1CLICK distributes these individual tasks to designated staff at designated times. And most importantly, when needed, he can EXACTLY get the tasks done.

If the worker forgets to hand over the handover report, our solution starts “shouting” at him to do it. And if he doesn’t, his supervisor will see it. This can ensure that the document gets where it needs to go in a timely manner.

That was just one of many examples. There are many more situations in companies that need to be addressed. From business to manufacturing to support processes.

1CLICK will help you keep them under control.
