7 steps to plan for 2022

Are you planning, looking for priorities, goals and want to make your dreams come true? Now is the best time to get started. Wondering how to do that? Here's my procedure. It's a process I enjoy and do every year.

Define your priorities/goals

What to focus on this year? We can look to the past and clarify where we need to move. Is it finance, more business, more effective marketing or staff stability?

It is good to define 2,3 maybe 5 priorities for this year. Now we create what is to come. Now we are sending out energy that will bring results. If nothing else, it is better to visualize what we want to achieve right now than to do nothing. Just by placing it in time and space, that in itself is bound to cause something and it will come back to us.

Find out WHY

Why find out why? Because with this word we find out the purpose. Why do we have this goal? How it will affect our business, our lives. Purpose helps us to affirm that the goal is right.

WORD OF THE YEAR

With each year end, the word of the year is sought. Let’s do it the other way around. Let’s find him at the beginning of the year. A word, perhaps a theme, that will help shape us this year. Something to focus on and take us further.

It can be quite fun and productive at the same time. What will be your WORD?

Our words have great power and when we believe what we say we begin to change our lives.

Creating a plan

If we don’t plan the journey, it’s like a ship at sea with no set course. It rocks helplessly back and forth on the waves. It’s better to make a plan, which of course doesn’t always work out, but it sets us on a course. It may come more or less at random, the course will keep us moving in the right direction.

Let us set coordinates, fixed points, stages through which we must sail towards our goal.

Create your projects for this year

Once you’ve planned the big things, break them down into smaller doable steps. Define projects, each project can be one specific goal. Break it down into stages, subtasks, subtasks of subtasks… And keep it under control

Are they dreams? Rethink whether these are just dreams or real things and get on with it. There’s nothing wrong with dreams. My mother told me I shouldn’t have my head in the clouds. I say that you need to keep your head in the clouds, but still keep your feet on the ground. I have a dream… 🙂

Create good habits

To achieve goals, it is good to have routines, that is, as the dictionary says, common and often more or less automatically repeated activities.

We’re all gonna have it differently. My friend doesn’t check his email in the morning as a matter of principle. He wants a clear head so he can be creative. I need to get going in the morning to be creative. Have a coffee, read something positive for a while, then get rid of the emails that have landed in my inbox since yesterday. Then I’m clear-headed and I’m on it. Then I also tend to get creative in the evening over a glass of something good, but that’s a secret.

We can build habits. Maybe you have failed in the past when you have repeatedly started something and this is discouraging. Often this happens when we load too much on at once.

Some time ago I decided to do something for my health. I started practicing yoga using an app on my phone. After a while I quit because I couldn’t make it or didn’t feel like it. It just wasn’t easy to practice that one-hour lesson. Then I stopped completely. After a couple of months, I returned to exercise. I started at ten minutes, which I am always able to give. And I’m slowly adding. Suddenly I’m exercising every day.

Design your schedule

Look at this year, take a calendar and write down all the important things in it. Corporate events, commitments, meetings. Like important holidays so we can plan our marketing. Just all the important events. Then we will have a much better idea of how we will sail this year.

Life

Maybe it’s not just a guide to our work, business. Maybe if we do the same with a personal plan, everything will be easier.

Step by step

Then let’s get going, hoist the sails, set the first coordinates and set sail. Along the way we will encounter storms, cliffs to avoid, waves to overcome. As we reach our destination and look back on our voyage, I believe we’ll crack open some good champagne. And we can plan for next year. The 23rd. It might be fun to look for the right word…
